WHAT TO EXPECT AT PHILIPPINES INTERNATIONAL FURNITURE SHOW 2018

My friends know how I have this fascination over furnitures. I can spend the whole day in stores —just enjoying and exploring. Are you a furniture enthusiast too? If you are then you should not miss The Philippines International Furniture Show ( PIFS ) 2018 —the ultimate furniture lifestyle event fit for all design and furniture enthusiasts.

PIFS will be back on March 8-10, 2018 as they converge to bring the biggest show at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. This year, the ultimate design and lifestyle event in the country will have over 200 furniture designers and manufacturers.

ABOUT PIFS 

PIFS is one of Southeast Asia’s premier trade fairs, offering an extensive range of furniture products, accessories, and décor. It is jointly organized by the Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation Inc. (CFIF), the Chamber of Furniture Industries of the Philippines (CFIP), and the Pampanga Furniture Industries Foundation (PFIF).

WHAT TO EXPECT AT PIFS 2018

Last Feb. 21, we attended the mini preview of what’s instore at the upcoming Philippines International Furniture Show 2018. And if you'll ask me, what we have seen last Wednesday are just a few of what I can say a true testament of quality and craftmanship through a collaboration of Filipino Collection.

This year, PIFS will bring light to one of the most respected hardwood artists and furniture designer in the country. PIFS will be doing a special tribute to showcase a number of pieces by Osmundo Esguerra during the show in commemoration of his artistry. Esguerra, a self-made furniture maker, has made a name for himself by having a distinct style and approach in handling indigenous wood. His crafts reflect his natural creativity and ingenuity, celebrating the true Filipino craftsmanship. 

PIFS continues to attract buyers who want to see first-hand what Filipino design and craftsmanship has to offer. With the Philippines having a strong reputation for originality and ground breaking interpretation, makes us truly the “Milan of Asia”.

The buyers purposely travel here in the country to witness our one of a kind crafts. The buyers are coming from countries as far as the United States of America, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, China, Australia, Saudi Arabia, France, Germany, and India.

This Bordeaux Slipper Chair showcase the expertise in weaving using natural materials with fabric as inspiration.

Mr. Eduardo Zuluaga, overall event chairman of PIFS and President of Chamber of Furniture Industries of the Philippines stated that they envision PIFS as the ultimate collaboration of Filipino Collection. He mentioned that through the show, we Filipinos are able to show the world the ingenuity of our local manufacturers and designers. It also became the outlet on how we interpret the latest industry trends where we most often take the lead in design innovation.
