Choosing the right kitchen tools may be daunting nowadays with so many brands that are currently available in the market. Fret not! Carl Schmidt Sohn products are now available in the Philippines!

Are you one of those who are tired of buying kitchen knives and cookware that does not last long? If you think you are saving money by buying inexpensive but low grade kitchen tools then think again.  It's like you are doing a kitchen refurbishment every three months.  Low-priced alternatives will cost you more as these need to be replaced after only being used for a little time. It’s time to invest in the right kitchen tools!

Carl Schmidt Sohn boasts of premium quality knives and cookware products that are made in Solingen, Germany. The company has come a long way, from making swords to knives, and eventually expanding their range of kitchen tools that can cater to the lifestyle of the modern Filipino family.

The company was founded in 1829 by Carl Schmidt, a former blacksmith who specialized in making swords. In 1850, when Germany was becoming a hot bed for industrial tools production, Carl Schmidt Sohn started producing knives, cutlery, shaving blades, scissors and pocket knives.

In 1928, Carl Schmidt Sohn knives and cutlery products were exported all over Europe and by 1960 the company added cookware and kitchen tools to their product line. In 1990, Carl Schmidt Sohn further developed its product line by adding premium and modern cookware like its innovative pressure cookers.

Carl Schmidt Sohn successfully penetrated the world market by marking its presence in 40 countries. The company was awarded by the German Chamber of Commerce with a Certificate of Special Merit for its outstanding achievements for over 180 years. Carl Schmidt Sohn products are now recognized worldwide because of its award-winning designs, functionality, premium quality and innovative concepts.

Different chefs worldwide have already attested to the quality, efficiency and convenience of using Carl Schmidt Sohn products. One of these chefs is our very own Chef Jam Melchor, owner of Healthy Eats Manila.

Chef Jam personally likes Carl Schmidt Sohn’s Tessin knives. During his cooking demo titled “Solingia” which was held recently at True Value in Shangri-La Plaza, Chef Jam prepared three delicious and healthy dishes using Carl Schmidt Sohn’s Tessin Knives, Lift and Pour Casserole and Pro X Non-Stick Frying Pan.

Carl Schmidt Sohn’s Tessin Knives

Carl Schmidt Sohn’s Tessin Knives are hand-sharpened and made of the finest X5CrMo14 HRC 58-stainlesss grade steel secured with a sturdy walnut handle. The heavy base and sharp blade makes cutting easy and efficient. The Tessin Knives set is composed of a peeling knife, paring knife, carving knife, utility knife and a chef’s knife.

“If you want a chef knife that is sturdy and has a heavy base with perfect balance then Carl Schmidt Sohn Tessin knife is the right one for you. It has premium quality and aesthetically pleasing. I love its walnut wood handle. You can always tell a knife’s quality by its handle,” said Chef Jam during the cooking demo.

Carl Schmidt Sohn’s Lift and Pour Casserole

Chef Jam also featured the Carl Schmidt Sohn Lift and Pour Casserole during the event. The casserole has flexible handles that blocks and protects the lid and there are holes on the upper side of the pot that makes it easy to drain water or any liquids without spilling so there will be no more need for strainers or pot holders. You can also put the lid on the side of the pot and let it lean on the adjustable handles instead of putting it on the table everytime you want to open the pot.

“If you want to eat healthy, cook healthy. It’s best to use Carl Schmidt Sohn’s Pro X Non-Stick Frying Pan because it doesn’t need so much oil and food won’t stick,” added Chef Jam.

These are just some of the products that Carl Schmidt Sohn has to offer. If you do not want disposing kitchen tools frequently then it’s time to add Carl Schmidt Sohn to your kitchen arsenal.

Carl Schmidt Sohn products are available in Rustan’s (Alabang, Makati, Shangri-La Plaza and Cubao), True Home (Robinsons Magnolia and Greenbelt) and True Value (Shangri-La Plaza, Alabang, UP Town Center and Rockwell).

Carl Schmidt Sohn is exclusively distributed in the Philippines by Much Prosperity Trading International, Inc. (MPTII), one of the best suppliers and distributors of quality houseware products in the country for over 50 years.
