ON BEING A LYSOL MAXI MOM AND 100% WHOLE MOM: A LYSOL MAXIMOM EVENT

When I was a kid, one of the things that my mom instilled in me is to keep myself groomed and to be clean with my things all the time, everytime. And I thanked my mom for that because let's face it, being clean keeps you away from sickness that's mainly coming from the harmful bacterias and viruses.

The Mom Bloggers & 100% Whole Moms Marilen, Cheska, and Rica together with the Lysol Philippines  PR & Marketing

Last September 1, 2016, Lysol Philippines organised the Lysol Maxi Moms event where I was one of the invitees.

Together with the other mom bloggers, we spent an afternoon full of learning, sharing, caring, loving, bonding and all things about cleanliness at La Creperie in Salcedo Village, Makati.

100% Whole Mom Marilen, Cheska, and Rica
The event speakers are Marilen Faustiano- Montenegro, Rica Peralejo- Bonifacio and Cheska Garcia - Kramer. They are the founders of 100% Whole Mom.

100% Whole Mom is community founded by three moms who work collaboratively on a project that focuses on “The Home, The Beauty, and The Heart” of a Mother. Marilen handles THE HOME. Cheska takes care of THE BEAUTY and RICA takes charge of THE HEART.

ORGANIZING THE LIVING ROOM

Marilen Fasutino - Montenegro

The first speaker was Marilen of Marilenstyles.com. She shared to us the basics in organising a living room.

The living room of our house is the most common area amongst all the section of our own homes. This means that since it is the most common, this is where we spend most of our time hanging out and bonding with our love ones. And with this, you cannot deny the fact that sometimes, it is really hard to maintain it and make it clutter-free.

You will be amazed at how she can organise and make even a small place elegantly gorgeous - clutter-free!

These are the things we could do:
  • USE TRAYS - Organize little objects live TV remote controls, small d├ęcor and other living room essentials
  • USE BASKETS - Invest in decorative baskets for your living room to hide messy things like toys
  • CLEAN AND ORGANIZE IMMEDIATELY - I learned this from my mom and our yay and I am passing this habit to Tammy. Just like anywhere else, it is always imperative to clean as you go.
ACQUIRING THE HABIT OF CLEANLINESS

Cheska Garcia - Kramer
Cheska Garcia-Kramer, shared to us her secrets on how to acquire the habit of cleanliness and gave us actual tips on how she and their helpers maintain a clean home.
When you see a clean organized home almost always you can picture the type of individuals who lives in that home. You can imagine that their thoughts too are well put together.  Nothing is more enjoyable than coming home to a clean organized home that exudes peace and tranquility. Happiness is Cleanliness -- a happy home is a clean home. says Cheska.
CLEANLINESS is an acquired habit. And I do believe in this. As I've said earlier, this is one of the habit that my mom instilled in us as she herself is a clean freak! okay, let's replace the word. OC-ness in everyway, and that is how you can define my mother. :)

Cheska Garcia - Kramer on Building Good Habits

Habit in simple definition is something that a person does in a regular repeated way. When you do this activity or action regularly, one develops or acquires what we call a habit.

How does one acquire the habit of cleanliness?
Most popular answer you'll get is 21 days—however, that number just remains scientific because it wasn't event tested nor proven until recent research was done and led by a a team from the University College London. It takes an average of 66 days for one to develop a new habit to the point where it becomes automatic.

Form Habits by the 3–Step Process:
Set a Reminder  - Place reminders behind sink/lavatory cabinet doors in every toilets & bathrooms of the house with cleaning instructions.
Start with the easiest ones - For an easy start, provide cleaning materials needed for cleaning and disinfecting the T/B under the sink & lavatory cabinets
Reward yourself or family member/s Commend family members for keeping up with the good habit
Cheska Garcia - Kramer on Organizing Cleaning Materials

BEGIN BY ORGANIZING YOUR CLEANING MATERIALS
  • Organize your cleaning materials in a pail
  • Place each pail in their designated T/B, maybe under the sink
  • Post a reminder on an inconspicuous spot in the T/B to clean the room everyday
ORGANIZE THE CONTENT OF YOUR PAIL
  • Medium-sized pail or bucket to contain disinfectants
  • Disinfectant spray for the lavatory and mirror
  • Toilet Bowl Cleaner
  • Rag, Utility Sponge, Tile Brush
  • Mop
KEEP A TASK CHART AND POST REMINDERS
Check DAILY if the task is accomplished diligently

SANITIZING THE KITCHEN EVERY AFTER DAILY USE
It is good practice that we keep a mop in a pail of water filled with disinfectant in a safe corner of the kitchen

KEEPING THE LIVING ROOM CLEAN
Mopping the whole house 3 x a day should be a habit that every household should acquire because nothing can compensate with a compromised health

A CLEAN HEART

Rica Peralejo - Bonifacio
Rica Peralejo-Bonifacio inspired and enlightened us to be pure and clean.Yes, it is easy to clean our homes by ourselves. Easier way if we asked somebody to do it for us but yet again, we should not be forget that it is not only our homes that needs to be clean- we should have a clean HEART too!

WHAT WE PUT IN OUR HEARTS
“The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” (Luke 6:45, ESV Bible)

WHAT WE RELEASE FROM OUR HEARTS
1. Encouragement - The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped. (Proverbs 11:25, The Message Bible)

"When you open doors for others, God will open doors for you." (Lisa Bevere)

2. Confessions - Make this your common practice: Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed. (James 5:15, The Message Bible)

3. Forgiveness - “You will find that it is necessary to let things go; simply for the reason that they are heavy. So let them go, let go of them. I tie no weights to my ankles.” (C.Joybell.C)

4. Apology - “Never forget the nine most important words of any family: I love you; You are beautiful; Please forgive me.” (H.Jackson Brown Jr.)

Rica Peralejo Bonifacio sharing some inspirations from the heart

WHAT WE KEEP IN OUR HEART

  • Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense. (Proverbs 19:11, ESV Bible)
  • “Pick battles big enough to matter, small enough to win.” (Jonathan Kozol)
  • “But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart.” (Luke 2:19)
This bible verse “Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.” (Proverbs 4:24) made a mark to me, particularly to my heart.
