STRIKE LAUNCH : YOUR ADVOCATE IN DENGUE AWARENESS

A number of my family and friends are aware that 3 years ago, my only daughter became a victim of dengue. That's why when I received an invite last week from the PR of ATC Healthcare to be one of their guest blogger to speak about dengue, never had it crossed my mind to hesitate as I would want to be a part of this advocacy.

Dengue prevalence in the Philippines has been alarmingly increasing. When I browse my social media accounts, I would always see posts from friends that a family member is in the hospital because of dengue. What's even more concerning is the fact that the increasing number of dengue cases include children and even infants.
With this, parents are getting more anxious and are looking for ways to guard against this epidemic.

It's true, everybody believes that prevention is the best approach. In fact, I have always believed that prevention is better than cure.
But how can mommies really counter this dreaded disease?

Myself and co-blogger Marie San Luis together with the celebrities holding our advocacy pledge

ATC Healthcare, your trusted ally in health, has developed a range of products that can effectively and safely combat the spread of dengue among Filipino homes.

Recently, ATC Healthcare launched the campaign “Depensa Laban sa Dengue” with Mrs. Amy Perez-Castillo as its brand advocate. The affair was held at Annabel’s Restaurant in Tomas Morato, Quezon City on October 26, 2015.

Mrs. Amy Perez shared helpful tips on how to protect your family from dengue and suggested the use of multiple lines of defenses that include Strike Multi-Insect killer Spray, Strike Coil, Strike Liquid Repellant, Strike Mat and Strike Patch.

Mr. Louie Albert, Ms. Amy Perez & Mr. Derick Wong after signing the contract on advocacy in Dengue Awareness

ATC Healthcare’s Chairman, Mr. Albert Chua, President/CEO Mr. Derick Wong, and Marketing Manager Mr. Louie Albert welcomed guest Strike bloggers and prominent media personalities who joined the launch.

Press and guests were treated with many cash prizes and gadget prizes such as iPhones

The event was hosted by showbiz comedian-artists, Mr. Ogie Diaz and Ms. Tart Carlos.

Sharing my own personal experience about my encounter with Dengue

While there is a vaccine that is formulated to prevent dengue, its efficacy is yet to be tested. We are left with no other choice but to fully protect ourselves from having this disease.
Since I have experienced it with my daughter and brother, you can't blame me for being extra cautious. As a mom,  I can't help but panic with the nearing 100,000 reported dengue cases in our country from January to September of this year alone.

Here's sharing my personal advise to everyone:

- See to it that your environment is extra clean.
-Conduct quarterly fumigation in and out of your house to keep away mosquitos in your place.
-Perform a regular check-up of your backyard. Make sure that you house is free from stagnant water.
-Also, In my case, since I have a middle grade schooler, I see to it that I let her wear Strike mosquito patch to keep her protected each time that she is in school and away from our home.
- Use Strike Multi -Insect Killer Spray atleast twice a week to make sure that your house is away from pests.

With the help of Strike, we can battle and prevent Dengue!

Para iwas dengue, STRIKE agad!
Thank you ATC Healthcare for allowing me to share my personal experience and insights on how to prevent Dengue in the family.

Here's the Strike TVC BTS and Press Launch Highlights:

Strike is a fast-acting multi-insect killer that has a water-based formula which effectively kills mosquitoes and other insects. It has lower toxicity as compared to the leading brand, thus, it is safe for people, pets and plants. It leaves to stain on the surfaces of your home and does not release disturbing odors.
