Attempt to break the Guinness World Records™ title for largest serving of Roast Pork - Lechon

We Filipinos are known for our excellent talents in every aspect. Much more for the number of records which have been listed in Guinness World Records that we have achieved.

With a whole Filipino Pride, the Philippines will again be trying to break the renowned Guinness World Records title for the Largest serving of roast pork this coming November 8, 2015 at the Quezon Memorial Circle grounds.

This historic record breaking moment will be spearheaded by Calata Corporation in accordance with the company's 16th year Anniversary on November.

Last October 22, Calata Corporation's Chairman and CEO, Joseph Calata together with the Corporation's Board Members held an exclusive media briefing in Makati to a number of media and bloggers, in order to showcase the possibilities of aiming for the world record attempt.

(Yes, I was one of the lucky ones who were able to meet the people behind this exciting event.)

Calata Corporation has built its legacy upon the foundations of hard work, innovativeness, industry and belief in the innate giftedness of the Filipino people. With this, they want to celebrate their 16th Anniversary involving some charity, thus LGU's will invited in the event to witness the would be historical event. Apart from that the following points have been included as their aim in conjunction with the said celebration:

-To showcase and emphasize the Filipino spirit and tradition, and our passion for good food.
-Raise awareness of the farming industry in the country.
-Change the mindset of the people against agriculture since Philippines has a lot of potential when it comes to this field.

Having heard this from the Chairman himself, I am honoured and humbled at the same time with what the company's goal is all about.
