Hello to balancing Work, Business, and Back-to-School Life in a digital world. Every school year, I tell myself the same thing: “This year, I’ll be more organized.” And every year, reality humbles me.
I still clearly remember: one minute I’m labeling notebooks and preparing baon ideas. The next minute I’m answering emails, replying to brand messages, checking business concerns, coordinating schedules, and trying to remember whether I already signed a school form that’s buried somewhere in my bag.
As moms, we’re often the default project manager of the family. Coz’ we don't just remember the school activities. (Suppose that isn’t the truth, because whew. ) 😂 We know the small details such as the place where those extra pencils are and which day requires an art project. We even remember which day requires a PE uniform (believe it or not, even if Tammy is in college now, I still know her PE days, haha!)
And with all of that, we also keep track of appointments, bills, groceries, and somehow still find time to show up for work, our businesses, and the people we love.
As a mom, content creator, and someone who wears multiple hats every day, I’ve learned that I can’t do everything alone. And over the years, I’ve stopped viewing technology as simply a convenience. For me, it’s become one of the biggest reasons I can keep everything moving without completely losing my mind.
Take a typical weekday in our house. Tammy is getting ready for school while I’m mentally going through my checklist for the day.
I might have content deadlines to meet, meetings to attend, messages from clients waiting for replies, and household tasks that never seem to end. Reliable internet is not just nice to have; it’s something our family really depends on these days
When I am busy doing content or handling online tasks, Tammy may be researching a school topic, checking announcements, or browsing through learning material. At the same time, we’re coordinating family schedules through messages and making sure everyone is where they need to be. It’s amazing how much of modern family life happens online now, isn’t it?!
That’s why having dependable connectivity from PLDT Home has become such an important part of our daily routine. When work, school, communication, and household responsibilities all happen simultaneously, a stable connection helps everything flow more smoothly. Less buffering. Less stress. Less scrambling. And if there’s one thing moms appreciate, it’s anything that reduces unnecessary stress.
Another thing that has helped me recently is learning how to work smarter, not harder. For the longest time, I felt like I had to do everything manually. Every caption, every schedule, every list, every plan- and I thought doing everything myself was the only way.
But lately, I’ve been exploring digital tools like Gemini and realized how much time they can save. Sometimes I use it to organize ideas when my brain feels cluttered. Other times, it helps me draft outlines, create checklists, summarize information, or brainstorm content ideas when I’m staring at a blank screen.
What I appreciate most isn’t that it does the work for me. It’s that it gives me back TIME. Time that can be spent helping Tammy review for school. Time for family dinners. Time to actually sit down and listen when she tells me stories about her day. And as moms, we know how precious those moments are.
Of course, technology isn’t just something we use. Our children are growing up with it too. As parents, I think one of our responsibilities is teaching our kids how to use digital tools wisely. The goal isn’t simply to find answers faster. It’s helping them learn how to ask questions, think critically, verify information, and use technology responsibly. Digital tools can support learning, but they should never replace curiosity, effort, and independent thinking. The same technology that helps us manage our lives can also help our children become better learners when guided properly.
And speaking of guidance, one thing I’m grateful for as a mompreneur is having a community that understands both the challenges and opportunities of today’s digital world. Through Madiskarte Moms PH, I’ve seen countless moms learn skills they never thought they could master—from online selling and content creation to digital marketing and using technology more confidently. What I love most is that nobody expects you to know everything. We learn together. We ask questions. We share experiences. And we remind one another that growth is possible no matter what stage of motherhood or entrepreneurship we’re in.
Because if you are going to ask me, modern motherhood looks very different from what it did years ago. Many moms now are building businesses from their dining tables. Some are attending virtual meetings while supervising homework. Others are managing side hustles between school drop-offs and grocery runs. We’re doing more than ever before. And while there will never be a perfect formula for balance, having the right support makes a world of difference.
For me, that support comes in many forms: a reliable connection from PLDT Home that keeps our household running smoothly, digital tools like Gemini that help simplify daily tasks, and communities like our very own, Madiskarte Moms PH that continue to empower moms through learning and support. So if you haven’t yet, join our community, Madiskarte Moms PH (MMPH), for practical tips, digital learning, and community support for mompreneurs.
Back-to-school season will always be busy. There will always be forms to sign, schedules to remember, and endless things to do. But maybe success isn’t about doing everything perfectly. Maybe it’s about finding tools that help us work smarter, staying connected to what matters most, and making room for the moments we’ll remember long after the school year ends.
And if you’re a fellow mom reading this while juggling ten things at once, know this: You’re doing better than you think.
