QUICK GUIDE ON LIFE INSURANCE FOR LOW INCOME EARNERS

I am an anti-life insurance years back so to speak pero my outlook on how I see and perceive life insurance has changed drastically. You ask me why?? First things first— What if your time comes long before you expect it— sige nga, how will your family survive especially if you are the breadwinner?

Let’s face it – almost everyone needs life insurance! Kasi no matter how we’d like to believe otherwise, we all die, but none of us know the time and day. Ang dali sabihin, “ay oo nga noh, I need a life insurance” pero paano if hindi ka pa nga sumusweldo, meron ng naka-laan para sa matatanggap mo, worse—kulang pa. So papano nga if you hardly make it from paycheck to paycheck? How can you even consider life insurance?

Nakapag-isip ka na ba? It’s really hard to comprehend things like these ones especially if you are struggling to pay your monthly bills! But what would happen if you were to die unexpectedly? Ano na ang mangyayari to your family that counts on you for basic need such as food, clothing and education? Iniwan mo na nga sila, naiwanan mo pa ng problema kasi hindi ka handa. How can they even afford to pay for your funeral?

You see, these are the things that kept me awake the other night when I’ve been contemplating on things that I've learned from the recently held launch of Country Bankers Life. Napaisip ako not just for myself but also with our kapwa kababayan na medyo kapos sa pamumuhay. I have so much realization about sa mga magiging benefits nila with the offerings and services of Country Bankers. Ang dami kasi sa mga kababayan natin— especially the ones who are located in rural areas who are almost always caught off-guard. Kawawa sila. That’s why I am writing this article to create awareness. Kasi hindi impossible sa ating fellow kababayans na magka-life insurance because it is affordable or very abot-kaya.

What really caught my attention was their Alalay sa Buhay (ASB) Plan:
-It provides renewable one-year insurance to individuals 13-70 years old for only Php 365, with natural and accidental death benefits.

To make the ALALAY SA BUHAY easier to understand, check this below:
  • Life Insurance protection for one (1) year. Renewable up to age 70
  • One time payment of Php 365.00 1 unit, Php 700.00 2 units , Php 1,000.00 3 units and Php 1,350.00 4 units
  • Beneficiary receives 100% of death benefit anytime during the whole year period.

Alalay Sa Buhay is also available for families and seniors, with ASB family being renewable up to age 70 for principal insured and covers up to 3 to 5 family members.

Alalay Sa Buhay Family -  Php 750 for one unit.
Alalay Sa Buhay for Seniors -Php 750 for one unit which covers individuals ages 71-80 and offers insurance for one year.

ALALAY SA BUHAY (ASB) COVERAGE

Country Bankers Life Insurance Company (CBLIC) continues to develop a wide array of insurance plans that are not only practical and relevant, but also provide the necessary support for plan holders in times of need.

In fact, they have just launched a plan or package called:

The CB Kalinga 4P’s Program which provides a wide range of benefits which is even made affordable.

Ano ano ang mga ito:
For an annual amount of P150 lang, check the principal insurer's coverage below.

CB KALINGA 4Ps Coverage:
-Death Benefit  (P5,000)
-Accidental Death and Permanent Disability (P15,000)
-Accidental Medical/Reimbursement (P2,000 max.)
-Daily Confinement (P200/day max. of 30 days),
-Instant Abuloy (P500)
-Fire and/or Lightning Assistance (P3,000).
-An option for a six-month coverage for the principal insurer is also available at P75.

Under 4Ps, Family Packages are also available for an annual fee of only P250, a Principal would have his/her Spouse and a maximum of 3 children enjoy insurance benefits.

A Principal’s Spouse could avail of the benefits enumerated above while his/her children (max of 3) would be able to avail Death Benefit (P1,000), Accidental Death and Permanent Disability (P2,000) and Instant Abuloy (P250).

Six-month coverage for Family Packages is also available at P125 premium.

You see, things would be better if we think ahead. Hindi na yung para sa sarili natin eh~ for our loved ones na! If you still are having second thoughts about life insurance after reading this — let me put it this way: when you avail of a plan, you are not actually buying it just for the sake of having it, but for having peace of mind.

  2. Yes right, for peace of mind. For the first time, i read something like this, insurance which made even convenient and affordable. We've been talking bout getting an insurance but the scheme cannot meet our financial status. Kaya am glad to hear bout CBLIC. That fear too these days where all is unsure kaya we need to be prepared and this one offers affordable annual fee. Reason why some choose to neglect getting an insurance because it will affect their monthly expenses eh. Thanks for a very informative post Ms Jaimie.
